    Proof of Knowledge: Pumping Test Evaluation

    Demonstrate your understanding of the fundamental concepts, evaluation methods, and interpretation principles used in pumping-test analysis.

    Welcome

    Welcome to the Proof of Knowledge (PoK) course associated with the interactive Pumping Test Module developed within The Groundwater Project.

    This course provides access to the assessment and documents successful completion through a certificate. The assessment is based on the concepts and educational materials presented in the interactive module.

    This Proof of Knowledge assessment evaluates and documents your understanding of the fundamental concepts required to analyze and interpret pumping-test data.

    Knowledge covered by the PoK

    Successful participants should be able to:

    • explain the purpose, design, and principal stages of a pumping test;
    • describe the response of groundwater levels to abstraction;
    • identify the assumptions underlying common pumping-test evaluation methods;
    • select an appropriate analytical method for a given aquifer setting and dataset;
    • interpret drawdown data and estimate relevant aquifer parameters;
    • recognize deviations from ideal behavior and assess the reliability of the resulting interpretation.

    Required steps

    Complete the following steps to receive the Pumping Test Proof of Knowledge certificate.

    1 Review the learning materials
    Work through the Interactive Pumping Test Module and the associated educational materials.
    2 Become familiar with the assessment
    Review the assessment format, timing, attempt rules, and submission process.
    3 Enroll in the PoK assessment
    Complete the required enrolment process to access the official Proof of Knowledge assessment and earn your PoK certificate.
    4 Practice and System check
    Complete the practice assessment to check the system and question formats.
    5 Complete the PoK assessment
    Complete all three separate assessment parts. Each part contains 10 questions and has a time limit of 10 minutes.
    6 Review the results and receive your certificate
    Review your answers and feedback after completing all three parts. The certificate is issued automatically after achieving the required total score.
